The mass expulsion signals another seismic shift inside Guinea’s security architecture under President Mamadi Doumbouya. Since taking power, Doumbouya has repeatedly restructured the military hierarchy, sidelining figures once close to the 2021 transition. Analysts say this latest purge raises urgent questions about internal cohesion, loyalty within the ranks, and whether the president is consolidating an even tighter grip on the forces that brought him to power.
