RCBANK TAKES THE FIGHT ONLINE — WALTON GILPIN CYBER CIRCUIT EQUIPS THOUSANDS TO SURVIVE AND THRIVE IN THE DIGITAL AGE
Rokel Commercial Bank (RCBank), on Thursday, 16th July 2026, successfully hosted the third edition of its flagship Walton Gilpin Cyber Circuit Series, reaffirming its leadership in digital banking and public education.
The high-impact event brought together entrepreneurs, business owners, students, professionals, and members of the public for an intensive cybersecurity and digital financial empowerment programme at the DBIM-DBAM Hall on Wellington Street in Freetown.
Organised in strategic collaboration with CEST Applied Intelligence UK, this year’s edition focused on the theme “Protecting Our Communities in the Digital Age.” Facilitators delivered practical, no-nonsense knowledge on how to identify scams, secure mobile money accounts, protect business data, and bank safely in an increasingly connected world.
Participants engaged in live demonstrations, Q&A sessions, and real-life case studies showing how cybercrime is evolving and how ordinary citizens can fight back. From phishing and identity theft to safe online transactions, the training was designed to close the knowledge gap that fraudsters exploit.
Speaking at the event, RCBank officials emphasized that digital growth must go hand-in-hand with digital safety. “As we push financial inclusion, we must also build digital trust,” a bank representative noted. “An empowered customer is a protected customer.”
The Walton Gilpin Cyber Circuit Series continues to position RCBank as more than a bank — but as a driver of national digital resilience and financial literacy.
With cyber threats on the rise, the third edition has set the tone for a safer, smarter, and more secure digital Sierra Leone.
