Sierra Leone stands at the threshold of a defining moment.

Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally, speaking under the Agenda MT Vision 2028, has described the new U.S. investment proposal as “a historic turning point for Sierra Leone— our greatest opportunity for national development since independence.”

According to Tarawally, the proposal represents more than capital. It represents a pathway to modern infrastructure, industrial growth, jobs, and global competitiveness that Sierra Leone has pursued for decades.

“No country has achieved modern development without the backing of American investment,” he stated. “This is our chance to leap forward, not in increments, but in transformation.”

However, he warned that seizing this opportunity will demand urgent and decisive action at home. To fully capture the moment, Tarawally urged government and citizens alike to confront the structural barriers that have long held back progress.

“We must remove corruption, slash red tape, and build a truly competitive economic environment,” he said. “Investors are watching. The world is watching. If we get this right, we will not just attract dollars — we will attract dignity, opportunity, and a future for our children.”

The Agenda MT Vision 2028 frames this as a national call to action: align policy, strengthen institutions, and create the conditions where American partnership can deliver tangible results in energy, agriculture, mining, and technology.

For a nation 65 years into independence, Tarawally argues the choice is clear — reform now, or risk letting the greatest opportunity of our generation slip away.
