Under the leadership of the Director General of National Petroleum Regulatory Authority, The National Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NPRA) has done a lot of achievement

Under the transformative leadership of the Director General, Brima Mohamed Baluwa Koroma, the National Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NPRA) has delivered massive achievements for Sierra Leone, maintaining steady stock availability, rigorous market supervision, and real-time fuel supply tracking through September and October 2026.

The Authority’s transparent reporting system has become a model for public institutions. As of October 6, 2026, NPRA inventory reports show: Petrol at 3.10 weeks of stock (tight supply, projected stock-out on October 27), Diesel at 7.90 weeks (moderate, stock-out November 29), Jet A1/Kerosene at 6.60 weeks (moderate, stock-out November 20), Marine Fuel Oil at 8.10 weeks (comfortable, stock-out December 1), and LPG at 6.90 weeks (moderate, stock-out November 23).

On pricing, NPRA has enforced stability. Pump prices as of September 24, 2026, remained at NLe 40.00 per litre for Petrol, NLe 45.00 for Diesel, NLe 44.10 for Kerosene, and NLe 32.24 for Fuel Oil.

Import and sales data for 2026 underline a thriving sector: Total Imports 314,897 MT and Aggregate Sales Volume 288,692,984 Litres. OMC Market Share stands at NP (SL) Ltd 27.4%, Conex 24.1%, Aminata 17.1%, ZALA 15.1%, LeonOil 8.2%, ECO Energy 7.6%, and Malador 0.5%.

Beyond fuel, DG Koroma has shown national leadership. In October 2026, he addressed the National Conference on Sustainable Funding for the SLBC, hosted by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education, proposing lessons from petroleum revenue management to create sustainable funding for the public broadcaster.

In September 2026, he represented President Julius Maada Bio to deliver modern musical equipment and a 5KVA generator to veteran cultural artist Yea Saffie and her group, honouring Sierra Leonean heritage.

Observers say DG Koroma’s blend of technical regulation, public transparency, and civic engagement has made NPRA one of Sierra Leone’s most effective regulatory agencies.
