AIR SIERRA LEONE RETURNS TO LONDON — SKYLINE REOPENED, CONNECTIVITY RESTORED

Airline Clears UK Regulatory Hurdles, Reopens Bookings and Sets October 2026 for London–Freetown and London–Banjul Resumption

Air Sierra Leone has announced a major return to the European aviation market, confirming that its London–Freetown and London–Banjul flight operations will resume at the end of October 2026 following the successful completion of key regulatory requirements and approval from the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

The planned resumption, which coincides with the IATA Winter Season schedule, marks a significant milestone for the Sierra Leonean carrier as it seeks to strengthen its position as a major West African airline connecting the region with Europe and the wider international market.

According to Air Sierra Leone, the first flight is scheduled for the end of October, officially restoring the airline’s London operations after a temporary suspension earlier this year. The airline has also confirmed that ticket bookings are now open, allowing passengers to secure reservations through its official website, ticket offices and authorised travel agents.

The airline explained that the temporary suspension was triggered by unforeseen circumstances involving its previous aircraft provider. During the interruption, Air Sierra Leone said passenger safety remained its highest priority while the company worked to satisfy all necessary operational and regulatory requirements before returning to service.

The resumption is therefore being presented not simply as a return to the skies, but as a renewed chapter in the airline’s growth and international expansion strategy.

Air Sierra Leone says it is returning “back stronger, better, and more committed than ever” to providing passengers with a safe, reliable and exceptional travel experience. The airline views the restoration of London services as another important step towards achieving its ambition of becoming a preferred carrier connecting West Africa with Europe and the wider world.

For Sierra Leoneans, Gambians, West African travellers and members of the diaspora, the return of the London route is expected to restore an important air link between the region and the United Kingdom, potentially offering greater convenience for business, tourism, family visits and other international travel.

Air Sierra Leone has expressed sincere appreciation to its passengers, partners and stakeholders for their patience, confidence and continued support throughout the period of suspension.

With regulatory clearance secured and bookings now open, the airline is preparing for a fresh take-off — with October 2026 set to mark the moment Air Sierra Leone once again turns its wings toward London.
