POLITICS OVER PRIDE: APC CALLS FOR KOROMA-BIO BRIDGE TO UNITE SIERRA LEONE

Unity, not division, must lead the way forward.

Speaking on the current national conversation, Sidi Yaya Tunis, National Publicity Secretary of the All Peoples Congress, APC, has called for reconciliation at the highest level.

“We hope to build a cemented relationship between Ernest Koroma and President Bio, so we can all be united and build a better Sierra Leone,” Tunis said.

The statement comes amid intensified public discussion about the reported imminent return of former President Ernest Bai Koroma and ongoing efforts linked to national reconciliation and cohesion.

According to Tunis, healing the political divide between the country’s two most recent presidents would send a strong signal to citizens and stakeholders that nation-building must come before party interests. He emphasized that collaboration between past and present leadership could help calm tensions, strengthen dialogue, and create space for development.

For many APC supporters, the call reflects a desire to move beyond political hostilities and focus on shared challenges facing Sierra Leone. The party says a united front is necessary to address the economy, governance, and social stability.

Whether that bridge can be built remains to be seen. But the message from the APC is clear: Sierra Leone cannot afford to remain divided.
