FROM FOUNDATION TO FUTURE: ONE HAND BUILT IT, THE OTHER WILL TAKE IT HIGHER

NASSIT NEW DEPUTY DIRECTOR GENERAL COMMENDS OUTGOING LEADER:

Leadership is not about erasing the past. It is about honoring it, then building on it.

The newly appointed Deputy Director General of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust, Mohamed Orman Bangura, has done exactly that — paying glowing tribute to his predecessor, Mohamed Fuaad Daboh, for steering NASSIT through a defining period of reform, innovation, and stability.

Speaking during a nationwide training programme on the Trust’s new Pension Administration System (PAS), Bangura, who now oversees Administration and Finance, described Daboh’s tenure as the bedrock on which NASSIT’s digital future is being built.

The PAS training sessions, taking place at NASSIT headquarters and in regional offices, are being led by senior management and technical experts. They form the centerpiece of the Trust’s ambitious digital transformation drive — a move aimed at making pension services faster, more transparent, and more accessible to every contributor across Sierra Leone.

“An institution only grows when it respects its history while embracing change,” Bangura told staff. “The reforms, systems, and credibility we enjoy today are the direct result of visionary leadership and disciplined management.”

Under Daboh, NASSIT expanded coverage, strengthened compliance, and restored public trust. Now, under the new leadership, the focus shifts to technology, efficiency, and scale.

The message from the new Deputy Director General was clear: this is not a break from the past. It is a continuation.
One leader laid the foundation. The next is here to take it higher.
